Attaain Inc. was founded by CEO Daryl Scott, who has over twenty-five years of experience in high technology businesses, including over eleven years leading the growth of several start-up companies in California’s Silicon Valley. He has extensive experience in a wide range of technologies, including enterprise and retail application software, mobile and wireless computing, and Internet, web and database systems.

Mr. Scott also is currently, or has previously, served on the Board of Directors of a number of successful high technology companies including Strategic Mapping, Inc., and CASIO Soft Inc., as well as on the Advisory Boards of Comprehensive Computer Solutions (CCS-Inc), VT KnowledgeWorks and the industry technology council NCTC (NewVa Corridor Technology Council).

As an entrepreneur, he has previously founded a number of successful technology companies. Most recently, he was President & CEO of Scott Technology Group, a high-tech management consulting firm. He also served as President & Partner of Milestone Equity Partners SW Virginia, where he was responsible for identifying, launching and providing ongoing coaching to premier early-stage technology companies.

Prior to this, Mr. Scott was President and CEO of CASIO Soft, Inc., a San Jose, California field force automation and mobile data collection spin-off company from CASIO Computer Corporation that raised $6M in equity financing. Leading up to the spin-out of CASIO Soft, Mr. Scott was Director of the Mobile Systems Group at CASIO’s U.S. Research and Development Center, where he was responsible for both internal development and external licensing of technologies used in a variety of mobile computing systems and products, and for technology transfers to and from the Company’s R&D facilities in Japan.

Previously, Mr. Scott was founder and President of Avail Technology, Inc., a developer and marketer of software for the mobile computing market. He also founded and served as President of Select Micro Systems, Inc., specializing in desktop business and marketing applications, which was later acquired by Strategic Mapping, Inc. Post acquisition, Mr. Scott then went on to serve as Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors at Strategic Mapping, Inc., a Geographic Information Systems and data analysis firm, and participated in raising over $20M in venture capital to fund the Company’s growth prior to its ultimate acquisition by Claritas/VNU.

Mr. Scott’s career also includes managing the development of a wide range of business software and market intelligence systems used in marketing, media planning and sales forecasting for several of the largest advertising agencies in New York City including Young & Rubicam, J Walter Thompson and Foote, Cone & Belding. He served as Corporate Vice President of Media Research at Foote, Cone & Belding and developed many of the agency’s in-house marketing/media analysis and forecasting systems.

He has written articles for, been interviewed by, or featured in, numerous marketing, business and technical publications including Madison Avenue Magazine, Television/Radio Age and Marketing & Media Decisions, as well as in computer publications such as Nibble, Personal Computing and MacWorld magazine. In addition, he has been a featured speaker on business technology systems at numerous industry conferences.

Mr. Scott holds a BA in Marketing from the University of South Florida, and an MBA from Baruch College in New York City.

Jim Flowers is the architect and founding Director of VT KnowledgeWorks.  VT KnowledgeWorks is a unique “technology to market” program that begins far upstream of traditional business incubators. Its uncommonly broad service offering supports inventors and entrepreneurs from the business concept stage through planning, funding, launch, and on through the mature growth phase. Since the summer of 2004 it has assisted more than 60 companies.

Prior to the founding of VT KnowledgeWorks, Mr. Flowers worked as a senior executive and consultant, and has helped to build (and sell) a number of successful enterprises. Under his direction, small businesses have cultivated and consummated significant contracts with companies like Ford, Alcoa, Texaco, General Dynamics, McDonnell (now Boeing) Aircraft, and Goodyear. And he was part of the top management teams of companies that were grown and sold to Citicorp, Orbital Sciences, Altair Engineering, and MSC Software.

Mr. Flowers served two companies as President, both university technology spin-outs, one from the University of Texas at Austin, and the other from Washington University in St. Louis. Both were acquired by major software companies. As a CFO he successfully managed the financial affairs of a fast-growing financial services company as it jumped from 30 employees to 300. Mr. Flowers understands growing businesses, including the challenging dynamics of bringing fresh ideas, exceptional people, complementary organizations, and capital together to make good things happen.

Dr. Brett Malone is a business development executive with expertise in the aerospace industry, software startups, venture financing, and M&A activities.

Prior experience includes serving as co-founder, President and CEO of Phoenix Integration, a process integration and design optimization software company, where he guided the company through new software product launches, venture financing, operations and built sales and marketing functions resulting in a successful, profitable exit.

He has extensive knowledge of aerospace and general manufacturing industries, product development cycles, and new business strategies. His background includes deep experience in optimizing product performance and development cycles. Dr. Malone's experience also includes serving as a partner in a bioinformatics software firm, director of a compliance software firm and professional business development for numerous technology firms in aerospace, defense, and manufacturing.

Larry Reich has over twenty years of high tech sales and marketing experience. He has created and managed multi-million dollar technology businesses ranging from retail to marketing and manufacturing. His background includes creative marketing and sales channel development for a wide range of technology products, including computer hardware, software and services.

Mr. Reich is the founder of Digital Age Communications, a consultancy specializing in high-tech sales management, business development, product strategy and marketing. At Digital Age he has worked with a variety of technology companies in the U.S., and internationally to develop product strategy, launch new products, create marketing programs, develop sales channels, and forge strategic alliances.

He also served as Worldwide Director of Sales for Apple Computer's PIE Division, where he was responsible for worldwide sales of Apple's Newton MessagePad, the first consumer handheld computer. Previously, Mr. Reich founded Mac Emporium, the largest hardware and software retail outlet in New York City catering to the Macintosh customer. In addition, he also founded and operated Lawrence Communications, a high-tech marketing/advertising consulting business, also in New York.
